This painting emerged less as something I created and more as something I encountered. I approached the canvas without intention, simply applying paint and oil pastels, moving them across the surface with a brush, my fingers, and a palette knife.

At some point, I stepped back, and that’s when everything shifted. I suddenly saw a presence looking back at me. It wasn’t something I had considered while working, yet it felt undeniably there, as if it had revealed itself through the process. In that moment, the painting became more than an object, it felt like a meeting point between something within me and something beyond me.

I sat with the piece for a long time afterward, just observing. It felt as though I was in a kind of silent conversation, where the language wasn’t words but emotion, something shared on a level I hadn’t experienced before.

This piece exists for me in that space between creation and discovery, where the boundaries of self and other begin to blur.
